BuiltByBreed ("we," "us," "our") publishes educational, breed-specific dog-training content at builtbybreed.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information is involved when you use the Site. We've designed the Site to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

  • No accounts, no forms. The Site does not currently offer user accounts and does not ask you to submit personal information.
  • In your browser only. Your theme preference, training-progress checkmarks, and checklist selections are saved in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. You can clear it anytime via your browser settings.
  • Standard server logs. The Site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which may automatically log standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and reliability, under Google's policies.
  • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. This sets cookies and collects limited, aggregate usage data — see the Analytics section below. We do not use advertising cookies, run ads, or sell your data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google, to measure aggregate Site usage — for example, which pages are viewed, approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information. GA4 sets cookies (such as _ga) and sends this data to Google for processing. We use these insights only to understand and improve the Site.

We have configured Google Consent Mode with advertising signals — ad personalization and ad-targeting data — denied by default. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or selling data, and IP-address handling follows GA4's default anonymization.

You can opt out by declining or clearing cookies in your browser, by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by enabling your browser's tracking-protection feature. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links

BuiltByBreed participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Some links to products are affiliate links — if you click through and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you follow a link to Amazon, your activity there is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy, not ours.

Third-party services

  • Google Firebase Hosting serves the Site (see server logs above).
  • Google Analytics measures aggregate Site usage (see the Analytics section above).
  • Google Fonts delivers the typefaces used on the Site; loading them may send your IP address to Google.
  • Amazon for affiliate product links (see above).

Children

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

Because we don't collect personal information through the Site, there is little personal data to access or delete. You can clear all locally-stored preferences by clearing your browser storage for this Site. If you are a California or EU/UK resident and have a privacy request, contact us and we'll respond as required by applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
